Paper Dolls Challenge #39

It's me, Michelle (abzzymom) and it's my turn to host the next Paper Dolls Challenge.

Since Father's Day is less than two weeks away, I thought it would be a great time for you to showcase your wonderful masculine cards.

So, my challenge is sweet and simple:  Make a masculine card.  It can be for any occasion, not just a Father's Day card.

I know this may seem like a really easy challenge, but making masculine cards is something I always struggle with. It's really hard for me not to include any ribbons, flowers, bling, or bright colors.

Here's what I came up with.

I wouldn't have added the buttons to this card since it's supposed to be a masculine card.  However, the frame around the panel turned out crooked on the bottom. By adding the descending button sizes, I'm fooling the eye into thinking the sentiment is straight, even though it's not.

I couldn't resist adding some ribbon. At least it's not a bow!

Come play along with the Dolls and show us your amazing masculine cards. I can't wait to be inspired by you.

  1. I think it's fabby!
And thanks for the tip on how to hide those not-quite-so-straight sentiments...
but I would have never known if you hadn't said anything!!
And I think the ribbon is perfect! :)

  2. Great card. I would not have known that your sentiment wasn't straight. I'll have to remember that trick. I love how you put the birds in the trees.
