Hi! It's Deena (honugurl16), and this week, it's my turn to host the challenge. Can I be honest? Today was the last day of school and it was only yesterday that I realized it was MY TURN! Yikes. I wanted to do a sketch, but I wanted some sort of twist...so I decided to choose a sketch that had a little something extra.
So here's the challenge. It's from the Go-To Sketches magazine. It's on page 90. Half the cards are an odd size, but I wanted to keep mine standard. The challenge is to make a card with a pocket on the front for a gift card. I often give gift cards, but I want to give them in a creative way. I think this fits the bill.
Have fun with this one. I'm really loving the new Beautiful Blooms paper. My newest favorite cardstock is Smokey Shadow, and I'm loving the smokey shadow flowers on the paper.
Supplies (All supplies PTI unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Mega Mixed Messages
Ink: Versacolor Black
Paper: Pure Poppy, Smokey Shadow, Beautiful Blooms
Other: HS felt, Pure Poppy Vintage Buttons, Nesties Labels 1, rhinestones (brand unknown), circle punch

Paper Dolls-Challenge #5
Hi, everybody! It's Michelle (abzzymom). It's my turn to issue this week's Paper Dolls Challenge and I've decided to make it about color. To choose the colors, I laid out my inks, closed my eyes, and picked three colors. Your challenge is to create a card or project using these colors.
(A big THANK YOU to Katie for helping me with my post by making the color challenge box above.)
I can't wait to see what you create using these colors. If you don't have these exact colors, use something that's close. It's all about having fun! Bonus points for finishing the inside of your cards too!
Hope you can play along with the Dolls! Remember to add your specific post to the link tool below.
Thanks for stopping by!
All supplies used are from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise specified.
Stamps: Out on a Limb, Mega Mixed Messages
Inks: Hawaiian Shores, Berry Sorbet, Rich Cocoa (Memento)
Paper: Hawaiian Shores, Berry Sorbet, Stampers Select White, 2008 Bitty Dot Basics, Chocolate Chip (SU)
Embellishments: Hawaiian Shores twill ribbon, Dark Chocolate button
Tools: Giga Guidelines I impression plate, Traditional Scallop punch (Martha Stewart)

Here's the card I came up with. I used the Out On a Limb set, which is one of my go-to sets.
The card base looked plain so I used the Giga Guidelines impression plate for the background to give it a little texture.
Here's a close-up of my "butterfly" bow with the button.
This year, I promised myself I would also complete the inside of any card I make.

Paper Dolls - Challenge #3
Hi everyone!
It's me, Suzanne {*suzanne*}, with the 3rd Paper Dolls challenge. This is my very first time doing anything like this and I have to tell you this was hard! I would much rather copy someone else's sketch, especially because Meg's sketch last week was so awesome! "Wicked awesome" if you are from Boston.
I knew that I wanted to sketch a square card and leave lots of room for everyone's styles. If you wanna add butterflies and flowers and buttons, go right ahead! But I went with clean and simple for my version on this sketch:
So the sky is the limit for you!! I hope you will play along and visit the blogs of everyone else who participates. Here is the Mr. Linky link so you can add your version...Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Suzanne
