Hi, it's Laurie from Hiding in My Craft Room.  This month's challenge here The Paper Dolls blog is to use at least three different kinds of patterned paper.  Here's the link: Paper Dolls #52.  Super fun challenge!  Thank you Sara!

Here's what I came up with:

Paper Dolls Challenge #52

It's Sara again!  It's my turn to host the next Paper Dolls challenge.  Since I've been so busy I've made this one really simple.

Use Your Patterned Paper
Create a card or project that uses at least three different
patterns of paper.

Most of us have an enormous stash of patterned paper that we could never, ever use up.  So pull out a few sheets and put them to use.

I chose to make a set of note cards with two slightly different looks that are blank inside.  These will make a great gift set sometime.

Hop on over to my BLOG for more details.

Here's what I came up with:

The yummy cupcake was cut at 3" from the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge.

The Paper Dolls Challenge #51

Hi everyone! Jessica, here, from The Paper Parade. Its my month to host the Paper Dolls challenge. I chose this month because it is my birth month, and I thought it would be fun to create a birthday card challenge with a twist...use some birthday wrapping paper on your card!

As you can see, I used my SU circle punch to cut out a couple of the cakes from the wrapping paper. And I used one of my Paper Smooches Stamps front and center in a PTI Mat Stack.

The dog is colored with Copics. The sentiments are from the same set. The cardstock is PTI, the twine is from the Twinery, the pearls from Recollections, the scallop punch from SU, and the double ended banner die from PTI.

I remember PTI hosting a challenge after Christmas to use leftover wrapping from your Christmas gifts, and I thought it was such a fun idea, so I decided to take it and repurpose it as a birthday idea :) So I hope you have fun with some funky paper and create a unique birthday card for someone special, or for your stash! If you do play along, make sure to link up below to show us what you create, I'd love to see!

Focal Point Impression: Sheet Music

Hello all -- It's Sara from The Unhurried Life!  I'm finally playing along with Amy's Paper Dolls challenge.  Cutting it close to the deadline, I know.  Our new challenge goes up on the 10th.

Here's my card:

I impressed the sheet music IP over some Sweet Life roses.  I actually took time to mask off the roses as I stamped.  That's a technique that I usually don't bother with because it takes a bit more time.  Nothing difficult of course, just more time and effort.  The roses are stamped using Pretty in Pink (SU), then Berry Sorbet (PTI) and Rose Bud (memento).

Hope you all are having a wonderful week!

Focal Point Impressions: Challenge #50

Happy Saturday everybody.  It's Joyce from Cards-by-the-Sea with my entry into this month's Paper Doll's Challenge.

Amy had such a fun idea for a challenge--to use impression plates on our focal points.  This is something I love to do, so I am happy to be the first to play along.

All the details can be found on my blog here.

Won't you play along, click here to see Amy's post and link up your Focal Point Impression.

Paper Dolls Challenge #50: Focal Point Impressions

Hi everyone!  It's Amy from Stamp-n-Paradise here to host July's Paper Doll Challenge!
I want to start by saying that I had a very different route in mind for my challenge UNTIL I saw this post by the very talented Maile Belles.  Did you all check out her post HERE?
I was just amazed by this technique she calls Focal Point Impressions.

The challenge this month is to use Maile's technique:
FOCAL POINT IMPRESSIONS

Here is my version of Maile's technique:

I know it's very hard to see from my pictures but the result is just amazing!
I can not wait to see more versions of this technique!

On a sad note, this will be my last post as part of this wonderful group of ladies......I can not thank you enough for everything you've given me over the past few years.
Hugs!

Celebrate Generosity in June!

I loved Joyce's challenge this month!

Earlier this month she challenged us to use products we were gifted or received as a RAK on our cards.  What a great idea!  Above you will see a *tiny* example of what I have received from a fellow Doll, Renee.

Come on over to my blog to check out the rest of the card and see what I received as a RAK :)

Enjoy!

***and play along with us and link up your card!***

Celebrate Generosity - Congrats On Your New Roost

This month Joyce from Cards-by-the-Sea is the hostess and her challenge is to celebrate generosity, a way to thank all of those wonderful people we know who share. I have been so blessed by what others have given to me by way stamping supplies, from stamped images, die cuts, paper pads, ink, dies and stamp sets.  My sister has been so kind to pass all of her stamping supplies my way when she went 100% digital and let me tell you she was a collector! Then there are the wonderful ladies I have met via the PTI forum, different blogs and all of the fabulous challenges.  Because I have been so blessed I do my very best to "Pay it Forward" when I have the opportunity.  So here is my card and I am using items that were given to me by three different fabulous and talented ladies...first the item is the barn wood, Joyce was so sweet to stamp me 6 sheets of beautiful wood paper in 3 different colors and papers.  Second item is the window, now who does not love this window, this is from Renee from It's A Patchwork Life and the third and final item is from my sweet sister, the ink to stamp my card.  Thank you all so much and without your generosity to me and other stamping friends it would not be near as much fun.

Ingredients
Solid Card Stock: PTI - Rustic White and Pure Poppy
Stamps: PTI - On The Farm
Barn Paper: Joyce
Window: Renee
Ink: My Sweet Sister

Paper Dolls Challenge #49: Celebrate Generosity

Hello Paper Dolls and friends of the Dolls!

Joyce here, from Cards-by-the-Sea, and it's my turn to host our challenge this month.

I thought it would be fun to celebrate the generosity of our wonderful crafting community.   One thing that has struck me over the almost 2 years I have been stamping is how kind, giving and generous we crafters are.  I have received numerous RAK's as well as gifts.  From stamp sets to dies, from card kits to die cuts from dies I don't have, I've got a huge stash of goodies to work with because of the kindness of others.

The challenge this month:

Make a project using something(s) you have received from another crafter.

I have two projects to share today.  It was great fun digging through my stash, pulling out things I have received as gifts.

The beautiful tulips on this card were cut and sent to me my my dear friend Kim of Cupcakes, Cards and Kim.  I still have a big bag of them, for another day.  The doily on this card comes either from Cathy of The Empty Nest Crafter or Tracey of In My Creative Opinion--I have resisted buying this expensive Parisian lace doily die, and they both have sent me so many die cuts, that I probably will never need to buy the die.

Cathy also sent me a stack of card stock impressed with the Chicken Wire Impression Plate, which she knew I had not bought.  Thanks to her, I was able to make this cow-themed birthday card, using my new On the Farm set.

Here is a little peek at the back of the cards.  I always like to use a 'handmade by' type of stamp and my initials.  When I am a rich and famous card maker--a signed original will be worth a fortune.  My friend Monica of Simply Sunshine sent me this stamp, when she heard that I collect 'handmade by' stamps.

That's it for now.  Please see my blog for a full supply list for these cards.  And, please join in the fun this month.  Post a card using something you have received from another crafter, and tell us all about it.

A Farm Hello

Hi everyone!  It's Sara here with a card for our current challenge.

Christy posted our latest challenge.  She calls it Find-a-File:

This month, hunt through your forgotten computer files for a template, a digital paper, a color inspiration... whatever moves you.  Just create and post your link - you have until June 9th to play along!

Isn't that a fun challenge?  I have soooo many saved files that I never use.  So a-hunting I went...

I chose to use this awesome digital wood paper that I downloaded ages ago from Gina K's blog.  You can find the file HERE along with lots of other freebies.

You can read more about this card on my blog.

Hope you'll play along with this fun challenge.

When Life Hands You Lemons...

May is Christy's month to host the Paper Dolls challenge and when I first read it I through, well that leaves me out...I don't have many digital images let alone know how to use them and when I was cleaning my craft room some time back I pitched all of the pattens and templates for paper piecing.  With Cricuts, dies and so many other ways to cut images I thought why would I ever need these again...that is until I read Christy's challenge.  Then I remembered that there was one website that had some wonderful digital images you can buy and print on your printers at home and her images are just so festive and whimsical.  I made a set of cards a while back using her adorable little "bees".  The name of the site is Pink Petticoat, and Liz is just amazing, she even has some fabulous free stuff too and that is what I used to make my card for this challenge and here is the link.
I was so impressed at how beautiful the images print but what really blew me out of the water was the full color sheets of card stock. I used PTI's White card stock and you would never know that this paper was printed at home, just fabulous! So here is my card and thanks for taking a peek!

Thank you so much Christy for your file-to-file challenge, you really made me think outside the box on this one and it was so much fun to do.

Paper Dolls Challenge #48: Find-a-File

[5/20 Edit - Finally! Here's the gift set photo.  For mo' betta photos, paper crafty details, & supplies, visit: gifting it]
Hello dolly friends! christy here from gifting it here with a new Paper Dolls challenge.  This month, hunt through your forgotten computer files for a template, a digital paper, a color inspiration... whatever moves you.  Just create and post your link - you have until June 9th to play along!
Fit for a wild thing! :)  The finger puppets template coordinates with PTI's Tiny Treats: Birthday and can be downloaded along with instructions at: http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2011/01/introducing-tiny-treats-birthday.html

They're hand-stitched with three strands of pink embroidery floss (I didn't stitch where a mouth piece covers the face).
Dig those chunky teeth!  For eyes I used black beads instead of french knots.
The whiskers are button twine colored with pink Sharpie to look like baker's twine - the extra stiffness looks great.
That royal velvet felt really makes the pink stitches pop!  Cheeky monkey...

So don't be shy now - keep me company and play along!
xoxo,
Christy

Paper Dolls Challenge #47: Fruit & a Sketch

On the very last day of the challenge...I made it! So this month's challenge from Jen was to use Fruit & a Sketch. I chose to use My Favorite Things "Who's that Harvest Girl" stamp set with a basket full of strawberries. Here is my card:

I used Freshly Made Sketches Sketch #33 for this challenge:

The strawberry paper is from PTI's Tutti Frutti, the "happy" is from PTI's Wonderful Words dies, all cardstock is PTI, the texture on the basket is from a SU Sizzix embossing folder. The twine is from the Twinery, and the label punch from SU. If you would like to see more photos, please see my blog post here. This card was also a birthday card for my friend, and fellow Dolls member, Joyce! This was a great challenge! Hope it leaves you will a good taste in your mouth for the next, which starts tomorrow! Please join us :)

Apple Fusion

This month's challenge is based on "fruit plus a sketch" and hosted by Jen...what a fabulous idea. Be sure to make your own card to play along and post.  I love using sketches to help get my mojo moving at times, there are so many wonderful sketches on Pinterest, I have a board filled with them. It is always nice to have a place to go with so many ideas in one place. Be sure to check out the Retro Sketches, they are just so fabulous! Thanks for taking a peek!

Here is the sketch that I used for inspiration...

Cherry Goodness

Hi! I'm here with my "fruity" card for Jen's challenge this month.  We all hope you will play along and post your card to this post.  I *pin* card and layout sketches all the time and then download them to Evernote so they are always at my disposal.  Today's card is based on this sketch
which is from the Clean & Simple Stamping Blog #43 sketch.  Now there are 2 things that I must point out on my card... TARGET washi tape (!!!) and Mister Huey Calico Shine (!!!).  First, the washi tape from Target that everyone is talking about.... I was able to snag some and the kids and I are having a blast with it.  For $4/4 rolls it is so fun.  The Shine spray really adds some sparkle and I finally got it super cheap through... AMAZON for $2.50! What a steal!

I used PTI products on the rest of the card: Fruit Fusion: Cherry, Fruit Fusion paper, Take Note stamp (dotted circle), Simply Chartreuse, New Leaf, Berry Sorbet & Pure Poppy inks and card stock.

Again, please play along with us and link up! You have until May 9th.

Enjoy!

Paper Dolls Challenge #47: A Little Fruity

Hey everyone! It is Jen from Jen's Ink Spot here!  I am honored to host the next Paper Dolls Challenge!  It is a 2-in-1 challenge!

In honor of Spring your challenge is to create a card or project that includes fruit on it somewhere AND is based on a sketch of your choice! I find that if I need a starting place when I am "stuck" on a card, the best thing to help me get going is to start with a sketch.   If you aren't sure where to find sketches, I've included a few of my favorite blog links where you can find sketches to use (of course there are many more to choose from)!

Here is the card I made featuring a strawberry image.

The sketch I chose to use (remember you can choose whatever sketch you'd like!) is from an "old" one, Sketch #22, on the Freshly Made Sketches blog.

If you are in need of some ideas for sketches, here are a few of my favorites:

Have fun! Be sure to link up your creation! You have a whole month!  Thanks for visiting!

Spring Bling!

Hi everyone! Jessica here, to play along with Suzanne and Renee's Paper Dolls Challenge, Spring Bling! This challenge was easy and fun. It is to create a spring card and use some bling. So here's what I made:

I made sure to put the bling to use, by adding an entire row of rhinestones to the left of the ribbon :) I just got my PTI package in the mail yesterday, so I used some of my new goodies including Little Bitty Bird Additions, and the Double Ended Banner Die (new to me ;) Also used on this card are the Mat Stack #5 Die, and the Grid background from Market Street Stamps. The ribbon is from Amuse, the cardstock is all PTI.

There's still time to play along, so why don't you join us? This was my first ever Paper Dolls challenge as a member of the team, and I truly enjoyed it, so I know you will too :) Scroll all the way down to find the Mr. Linky so you can link your card up!

Spring Bling Prayers

Here's my card for our Paper Doll Spring Bling challenge. I decided to get Faith & Hope from PTI when another person in our lives was battling cancer.  I decided she needed a better card than "Get well" or "Feel better" because she was diagnosed so late.  I wanted this card to show her cancer is limited and she deserves a bright card WITH bling because life isn't over yet.  She still has the ability to fight and we are all behind her fighting with her and praying with her.

The pearls are the perfect bling touch to this feminine card and we hope you will play along.  Just use spring colors and BLING.

Enjoy!
